简介:
US President Donald Trump has promised to make the security of schools and students a top priority during a national address on Thursday, the day after a mass shooting at a Florida high school that left 17 people dead and 14 others injured. "No student, no teacher should be in danger in an American school," Trump said from the White House, adding he will be meeting with the nation's governors and attorney generals to make schools and children across the country safer. A 19-year-old gunman opened fire on Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the city of Parkland in Broward County, north of Miami, killing 17 adults and children and wounding 14 others. It is at least the eighth episode involving gun death or injury at US campuses this year, and one of the ten deadliest mass shootings in modern US history.
